Super Green Detox Drink

Thirsty Thursday

I love this Super Green Detox Drink for several reasons.  Mostly because it’s simple and easy to make.  It’s one of my go-to recipes that I make weekly.  I like to make a big batch on Sunday evening, divide the juice out in mason jars, and then I have “to-go” juice for the week!

The Super Green Detox Drink is great for your immune system, is anti-inflammatory, helps with indigestion, and more.  It’s also filled with Vitamin C, potassium, minerals, and antioxidants.

Super Green Detox Drink
Recipe makes two 16-20 oz glasses.  Double the recipe if you’re making more.

Recipe
2 Apples
1 Cucumber
5 Handfuls of Spinach
6 Kale Leaves
1 Lemon
1 Thumb of Ginger

Directions
Wash all produce
Peel the lemon and core the apple

Put all ingredients through the juicer and drink up!

Let me know what you think of this recipe in the comments below!

Recipe of the day: The Strawberry Refresher

This is one of my favorite smoothies!  It's refreshing, light, and very easy to make! I swear it tastes like liquid candy but it's nutrient rich and full of antioxidants!
 www.sparklingfromtheinsideout.com

The Strawberry Refresher

Ingredients:
1 cup of fresh juiced red apples or apple juice not from concentrate
1 cup of pineapple
1 cup of frozen strawberries
*you can use fresh strawberries, but if you use some frozen fruit you get a thicker texture (like Keva Juice)

Directions:
Place all ingredients in blender, blend, pour, and serve!

I like to make a big batch and store whats leftover in my freezer,  in an airtight container (mason jar).  Whenever I'm craving something sweet, I'll substitute dessert with this smoothie!

This smoothie is absolutely perfect for the warmer weather!

I hope you enjoyed this recipe!

No Bake Cookie Dough Balls

This recipe is not only tasty but it's also very simple! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

Ingredients:
 1 scoop cellucor s'mores protein
 1/4 cup wheat flour
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 1 tsp stevia leaf drops
1/2 cup white chocolate Justin's almond butter with a little bit of trader Joe's cookies and cream butter mixed in
 1 tsp cinnamon
 1/4 cup white chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together except white chocolate chips. You may need to add a little bit (add in very small amounts!) of water as needed as you work the dough because it can be dry. Last add the white chocolate chips and work them in the dough. Then pull out pieces of the dough to makes small balls, place on a cookie sheet and stick in the fridge for a bit. Makes 8 balls

Cook for about 20 minutes.
Once cooked, place in blender and puree.

Heat up coconut milk in a cooking pan until it starts to boil, then slowly add in puree from blender.
Continue to stir over medium heat.

Quinoa Fried Rice By Ashley

This fried rice is so tasty! When I made it for my parents, I thought we were going to have a ton of leftovers but everyone ended up going back for seconds! This recipe is totally guilt-free plus it's very easy to make!

Ingredients:
 1 Box/Bag of Quinoa
Organic Reduced Sodium Chicken Broth
1 or 2 Chicken Breast (I bought pre-cooked chicken to make my life easier)
1 Bag of Frozen Mixed Veggies
2 to 3 Eggs
Garlic Salt
Pepper
Organic Tamari (Can be purchased at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods

Tamari is more than just "Gluten-Free" Soy Sauce.  It's color and taste is similar to regular soy sauce, but it's made completely from beans, giving it a unique flavor.  It tastes a little less salty in comparison to regular soy sauce and it also has a richer and more balanced flavor.

What to do:

Get out 2 decent sized cooking pans.
Pour the chicken broth into your first pan, over medium heat.
Add your Quinoa in.
You can let this pan just kind of sit on it's own, stirring occasionally.  I just followed the instructions on the back of the bag.  I substituted water for chicken broth using the exact same measurements.

Then, I poured a little bit of olive oil into the bottom of the pan I used for the veggies.

Pour in the veggies.
Let them get pretty hot.
Add in your chicken.  If you bought uncooked meat, you will need to cook the chicken before adding it in.

I then pushed all the veggies to the edge of the pan, creating a circle in the middle of the pan.
After that, I cracked and put in my 3 eggs into the middle of the circle.

I let the egg start to cook a little bit and then slowly started mixing in the veggies with chicken.
We do this so that the egg can get a good mix in the fried rice.
Below is what the egg looks like cooked into the veggies.

Once this is done, your Quinoa should be finished. Quinoa gets pretty soft and turns translucent once  finished.  There should be no excess chicken broth.

If your Quinoa is done, then you can start pouring in the fried veggies.

And here is your finished product!

This stuff is so tasty you really don't even need Tamari but if you just like to use soy sauce with your fried rice then I definitely recommend using Tamari!

I hope you enjoyed this recipe!
Have a great week!
